Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative Summer Art Academy

Details: The Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative (CAC) is a cooperative support group for visual artists that live in or near the Lake Hills neighborhood in Austin, TX. CAC is super excited to be in the planning stages of the 6th annual Summer Art Academy! CAC offers 4 sessions of camp each summer, each with their own focus and flair. Each session has a different teaching team of 2 local artists and 2 (or more) local teen helpers. Together they use their own strengths and interests to design a session that is really fun and unique. CAC values artistic freedom (no cookie cutter projects), and building artistic skill and confidence. Being local is such an asset because the kids are free to explore in a safe and nurturing environment (close to home with lots of friends!).

Every year CAC gets parents requesting spots for their younger kids, and CAC knows how much those kids love art! This year CAC will be bringing in a special teacher, Miss Alex, to be a young kids art guide. She will take a table of up to 4 younger kids and help them by modifying the projects and the pace of the day to better honor their little artistic spirits. She has an abundance of experience with this age group, and kids will have lots of fun with her. This is offered as a morning session only, so there are only 8 spots. Grab one while you can if you are interested!

Also, every year, CAC tries to offer a teen camp, but have never had that much interest. If you have a child over 12 who would like summer art instruction, CAC has several artists who can teach private or small group lessons. Please reach out to discuss.
